Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa and serves as healthcare social enterprise and through development programmes in the community and the most vulnerable. Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.
We are looking for a health volunteer Medical Attendant who is interested to also perform the duties as Mortuary Attendant
The role
To clean and disinfect the mortuary daily as assigned; To collect and receive bodies from the wards for preservation; Wash, dry, measure and position bodies. Embalm bodies. When required prepare bodies for postmortem examination.
Ensure adequate administration and records keeping for all mortuary services.
When not assigned to mortuary duties, you will be assigned duties as health attendant by your supervisor. You are expected to work in shifts.
The candidate
Form IV certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili and a 1 year certificate in either Nursing attendant or any health attendant course
Basic training course in Mortuary attendant.
At least 2 years working experience as medical attendant (experience as mortuary attendant is added advantage).
Familiar with different religious customs in Tanzania
Interpersonal sensitivity
Good communication skills with basic level in English
Computer literate
